Harley Trailer Hitch

Harley Davidson is a motorcycle with a reputation for providing a safe and fun ride. Why people ride is almost impossible to explain - you'll need to find out for yourself. There are roads and places just waiting to explore and you know if you just add a Harley trailer hitch you can pack along your necessities and take a road trip.

There are several hitch choices but at the end of the day most do the same thing with a few variations in material, price, and brand name. Whether you choose a Reese, Harley, Khrome Works, or Skull doesn't matter as much as finding the correct hitch for your needs.

You'll need the receptacle kit which will easily mount to the underside of your trailer hitch assembly. Installation of the kit means you can easily connect and disconnect the wiring for your lighting system. It's a universal 5 pin quick connect kit so you should have little hassle.

The trailer hitch will be rated up to 400 pounds depending on the size of your bike. Remember the load is transmitted from the hitch directly to the unsprung part of your bikes frame. The tongue weight of your trailer once attached to your hitch cant' exceed 10% of the total trailer weight when loaded and the tongue weight cannot exceed 40 pounds.

You need to check with the country or state you will be riding in to ensure there are no federal laws for pulling a trailer with your bike. Make sure you never exceed the manufacturers GVW limits or any government restrictions.

A Harley is a great choice in a motorcycle. Mechanically it's a beautiful thing! And then there's that body with all those sexy curves and lines and that great paint. Your trailer can easily be painted to match your bike. In fact you've probably seen some of the excellent looking rigs that will get your heart pumping.

Your Harley can be a useful mode of transportation taking you to and from work or on that road trip. Your Harley trailer hitch will allow you to hook up a trailer, pack up your most important possessions and set out to explore the world.
